Description
The Genisom L1 EDU is the L1 quadruped with Genisom's navigation kit pre-installed and the open-source RoamerX Open software, made for universities and robotics labs that develop their own perception, localisation and navigation. On top of the standard L1 platform it carries an NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 16 GB computing module with 100 TOPS of AI compute, a Mid-360 3D LiDAR, an Intel RealSense depth camera, a GNSS positioning module with an RTK antenna and a 5G communication module, fusing visible-light, depth and laser point-cloud perception on the robot.
RoamerX Open is a toolset, not a finished application: ROS 2 middleware, an open-source SLAM and Nav2 algorithm toolkit and example mapping and navigation functions, visualised in RViz on an Ubuntu PC. Genisom places it at research-demo level. The framework runs end to end, and what you build on it is up to your team, so it suits groups with strong algorithm and software-integration skills. The source code is open, new versions are downloaded from Genisom's GitHub repository, and software questions are handled through the open-source community.
The platform has 12 joints with 48 N·m peak torque and reaches 3.7 m/s. It climbs 30° slopes in standard conditions and up to 40° at the limit, carries 5 kg, and walks on roads, paving, grass, gravel and dirt tracks. At 17 kg it stands about 630 × 360 × 525 mm and lies down to about 670 × 425 × 255 mm, it is rated IP54, and a charge gives 0.5–1.5 hours of operation and up to 4.5 km. Two Gigabit Ethernet ports, SBUS + RS-485, two USB 3.0 Type-C ports, a 24 V DC output and a SIM slot take your own sensors and modules.
Compared with the standard Genisom L1, this edition adds the compute, LiDAR, depth camera, GNSS/RTK and 5G hardware that autonomous-navigation work needs. If you want a robot that patrols out of the box rather than a research base, the L1 EDU RoamerX Pro carries the same hardware with Genisom's paid, ready-to-deploy software package. Battery capacity and charging time are confirmed at quote.

Frequently Asked Questions
The robot and navigation hardware are the same. The L1 EDU comes with RoamerX Open, Genisom's open-source package of ROS 2 middleware, an open-source SLAM/Nav2 toolkit and example mapping and navigation, for teams that build their own algorithms. The RoamerX Pro edition adds Genisom's paid package with ready-to-deploy navigation, return-to-charge, a tablet app and dedicated after-sales support.
The standard L1 is the robot platform on its own. The L1 EDU adds the navigation kit, with Jetson Orin NX 16 GB compute, a Mid-360 LiDAR, a RealSense depth camera, GNSS with an RTK antenna and a 5G module, plus the RoamerX Open software for autonomous-navigation development.
Genisom aims it at research users with strong algorithm and software-integration skills. The framework runs end to end at research-demo level; turning it into an application is work for your own team, in ROS 2 with RViz on an Ubuntu PC.
RoamerX Open is open source: you download new versions from Genisom's GitHub repository yourself, and software maintenance and questions run through the open-source community.
Between 0.5 and 1.5 hours, with a maximum range of 4.5 km per charge. Battery capacity and charging time are confirmed at quote.
