Description
Vyommitra is a half-humanoid robot developed by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for the Gaganyaan human spaceflight program. Designed to fly aboard uncrewed test missions, Vyommitra validates life support systems, monitors cabin parameters, and simulates human responses in the space environment.
The name "Vyommitra" combines the Sanskrit words for "space" (Vyoma) and "friend" (Mitra), reflecting its role as a companion robot for India's astronauts. Vyommitra can perform switch operations, provide status updates, and interact with the spacecraft's systems.
