Description
The standard Unitree H2 sees through a wide-field humanoid binocular camera in its head; LiDAR is not part of its standard sensor set. This package adds one, bringing laser ranging to the H2 for teams whose work needs a 3D point cloud: mapping, localisation, obstacle detection and navigation research.
A camera and a LiDAR answer different questions. The binocular camera gives the H2 a human-like view of the scene; a LiDAR measures distance directly and does not depend on the lighting, which is what LiDAR-based mapping and localisation work is built on. For a full-size humanoid expected to walk through rooms, corridors and labs, that is the gap this package fills.
