Description
The Unitree R1-A7 Smart E is the R1-A7 dual-arm humanoid in its Smart E package. Unitree splits the R1-A7's computing between two boards: an 8-core CPU in the body that runs the arms and joints, and an 8-core CPU with 10 TOPS of AI compute in the head, next to the binocular camera it serves.
For heavier workloads — larger perception models, learned manipulation policies running on the robot, several camera streams at once — Unitree offers a high-computing module as an accessory, in several brands and models, such as Orin-class boards with 40–100 TOPS. Whether Smart E includes one, which one, and which end effector and wrist camera come with it, is itemised on the quotation.
The robot under the package is the standard R1-A7: two 7-DOF arms with 555 mm of forearm and upper arm, a ±150° waist and a 2-DOF head, 19 degrees of freedom with grippers, about 13 kg on a fixed base. All eight R1-A7 Smart packages, A to H, share it and differ in their bundled items, so compare them by the line items on their quotations.
On the software side, the underlying system, arms, audio, lighting and visual control are open for secondary development, the binocular module exposes RGB and depth-map interfaces, and the robot takes smart OTA updates over WiFi 6.
